"I grew up in Fair Lawn in a family of emergency responders and always knew I wanted to help people. When one of my younger siblings joined the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps in 2014 and would come home and tell me about all the amazing things they got the opportunity to do, I knew I had to join, too. I joined in July 2015 and had no idea that becoming a part of this organization would change my life so much. The camaraderie is unmatched - the members here would do anything for each other and for our town. I get the opportunity to help people
in their time of greatest need, and that satisfaction is something I can’t even properly explain. Something unique about my experience here is that at my first meeting, I was introduced to a member who would later become my husband! So, not only have I made some of the best friends and mentors I’ve ever had here at FLVAC, I have also found a partner both in life and in work. My husband and I ride on the ambulance together every Sunday - we truly enjoy taking calls, teaching new members, and saving lives (we’ve saved two lives together using CPR!). The Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps has given me so much, so I’ll continue to give back in any way I can."
