"Hello, my name is Jarred! I became a member of FLVAC in the Fall of 2020. Before joining, I have always wanted to help others in need. I currently work as an exercise physiologist in the Cardiopulmonary Department for Saint Clare Health in Denville and Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood. At these facilities, I work closely with nurses, cardiologists, and other clinicians to improve the health of people with a medical history of cardiac or pulmonary diseases. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, my unit was repurposed for helping other
departments. I spent most of my time helping triage patients in the ER with the rapid response team. It was then that I realized how I could give back to the community, so I applied to EMT school and joined FLVAC. Over the last 10 months, I have learned so much from the supportive and caring organization that is FLVAC. I could not ask for a better group of professionals to work alongside to help our community. Other than responding to those in need, the FLVAC does a tremendous amount of community outreach to educate Fair Lawn residents. I am extremely grateful to be a part of an amazing organization. I could not have become the EMT I am today if it wasn’t for FLVAC".
